Business name refers to a business structure which is owned and operated by a single person. This business structure is commonly known as a sole proprietorship business. Sole proprietorship business in Kenya is registered under Business Name Act
According to the Act, registration of Business Name starts with the reservation of a business name. This is done after a name search is done through the registrar of companies. After the reservation then one proceeds with the registration of business name starts.
After a business name is confirmed by the registrer of companies, its reserved for a minimum of 30 days. but under special conditions this period can be extended.
